Delicious Dinner: Enjoy a scrumptious meal prepared by talented chefs, featuring a variety of mouthwatering dishes to delight your taste buds.


Live Entertainment: Dance the night away with music and entertainment by DJ Miles that will keep you grooving all evening long.

Exciting Auctions (Silent & Live): Bid on an array of amazing items and experiences generously donated by local businesses and members of our community. We will also have an original piece of artwork made by each classroom in the silent auction. From family outings to unique gifts, there's something for everyone! 

Why We Do It

Because it's fun! But more importantly, your participation and generosity will directly benefit the VPE Media Center (aka the Library). Funds raised from this event will go towards providing the "living room" and heart of our school with new furniture and fixtures, thus enriching the overall educational experience for our students. Where are we going to be

This year's event will be held at The Venue in Leawood, located at 135th & Roe Ave. This amazing event space will provide a beautiful backdrop for our awards show themed auction this year!

What is a Silent Auction?

A silent auction is an event where items, such as products, services, or experiences, are displayed for people to bid on. For our silent auction, we will be using a mobile bidding platform where participants will place their bids on items using their mobile device. Participants can view items, place bids, and monitor the progress of the auction. Throughout the event, people can check the bids and place higher ones if they wish. At the end of the auction, the highest bidder for each item wins it. Silent auctions are a quiet and relaxed way to bid on items and can be a fun way to support a cause or organization.

what is a live auction?

A live auction is an event where items, such as products, services, or experiences, are presented for people to bid on in real-time. During the live auction, an auctioneer takes bids from the audience, and participants can raise their numbered paddles to compete with others. The auctioneer starts with an opening bid for each item and gradually increases it as participants bid higher amounts. The item is sold to the highest bidder when no further bids are made. Live auctions are often fast-paced and exciting, offering participants the chance to win items through competitive bidding.

How much are tickets?

Individual tickets are $50 per person. Admission includes:

  • a buffet-style dinner
  • access to the full-service bar
  • note: seats are non-reserved at open tables of 10

[Optional Upgrade] Purchase a VIP Reserved Table for $600 per table and receive:

  • tickets for 10 guests

  • The open bar begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 9:30 PM. Please drink responsibly.
  • Silent Auction bidding opens at 6:00 PM.
  • Passed hors d'oeurves served from 6:15 to 7:00 PM.
  • Buffet-style dinner begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 8:00 PM.
  • Dessert served at 7:45 PM.
  • LIVE Auction event begins at 8:00 PM and will last approximately 30-45 mins.
  • Silent Auction bidding ends at 9:30 PM.
  • The bar closes at 9:30 PM.
  • Check-out for auction items from 9:30 to 10:00 PM.

Do VPE staff members have to pay for tickets?

At this fundraising event, we deeply appreciate the support of our dedicated teachers & staff. However, as this event is organized to raise funds for our school's initiatives, including resources and programs that benefit both students and teachers, everyone attending, including our staff, is required to purchase tickets. That being said, we are able to offer our VPE staff members a discounted price of $30 per ticket. 


Your contribution not only helps make the event a success but also goes towards supporting the educational goals of our school community. We thank you for your understanding and participation in this important fundraising effort!

What is the Backstage Fund on the ticket page?

We have a wonderful opportunity for families to show our appreciation for the dedicated teachers & staff who go above and beyond to support our children's learning journey every day. One way we can do this is by offering them discounted admission tickets to attend the event.


However, in order to make this possible and ensure that our teachers & staff feel valued and included in our school community, we need your help. Your donation to the Backstage Fund will help us offset the cost of providing discounted tickets to our teachers & staff. You'll not only express your gratitude for their hard work but also contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone involved.

I cannot attend the auction event. Can I still participate in the auction event?

YES! Please consider making a Flat Donation (on the ticketing page) to help us reach our fundraising goals!
